Social Housing Development, Royal Oak
CivilPlan Consultants has been working with a national social housing provider to redevelop a Mixed Use zoned site previously occupied by a factory to provide for 50 retained affordable 1 and 2-bed units within three apartment buildings.
We have provided planning and civil engineering services to obtain resource consent for the development. We also provided site observation and contract management services through the construction phase.
The site provided challenges to create a suitable residential environment, being a rear site and bordering a mix of residential, industrial and mixed use zones. The development is now complete, being opened by the Prime Minister in October 2019. It will provide a great opportunity for affordable living in close proximity to the Royal Oak Local Centre and key transport routes.
