In February 2016 the rezoning of 200 hectares of land at Flat Bush was approved to facilitate urban residential development under the Housing Accords and Special Housing Area Act.
The Plan Variation sought to rezone the balance of Flat Bush (Stage 3) from Future Urban to; Mixed Housing Suburban, Mixed Housing Urban and Neighbourhood Centre zones. Overall, it is anticipated that approximately 2,500 dwellings can be accommodated in the area. Qualifying Development applications were also sought and granted concurrently with the Plan Variation.
The positive decisions have been the result of hard work put in by our planning team working in collaboration with industry partners to obtain the rezoning and resource consents under the Special Housing Area legislation
