Tamaki Marine Park

Auckland

Project Overview

Following the cessation of bulk liquid storage, handling and transport activities at Gabador Place, the Marine Park site and its adjacent Minor Port-zoned waterspace on the Tamaki River became available for redevelopment.

The Context And The Challenge

Prior to advancing the Marine Park project, CivilPlan / Haines Planning had secured all necessary consents for development of the adjacent boat storage (dry-stack) facility and associated pontoon structures, which also form part of the Tamaki Marine Park. Consenting for the Marine Park project required a strategic approach to be taken, involving a detailed planning assessment of the site’s opportunities and constraints.

The Result

CivilPlan / Haines Planning assisted Bledisloe Property to secure the necessary coastal permits for the development, occupation and use of this much needed marine services berthage facility on the Tamaki River. Careful management of the application during its formulations and post lodgement phases resulted in the timely granting of non-notified consents, thereby enabling the early engagement of contractors and on-time project delivery (refer Ben Snelling testimonial). The facility makes up the latest stage of the development of the Tamaki Marine Park.
